HDFC Bank Works with Amazon’s Alexa to Push Voice-Activated Banking

In a bid to offer voice-activated banking services to its customers, HDFC Bank is experimenting with Alexa, which is a virtual personal assistant that’s operated by voice, akin to Apple’s Siri.
HDFC Bank’s Country Head Nitin Chugh said that for now, the private sector lender has a basic version of the model that allows the customers to fetch banking information through voice-activated commands given to Alexa. However, it can be enhanced so that, for instance, a customer can make a transaction through their voice which is recognized by the device and authenticated. The same concept can be applied to multiple services and products like credit cards, savings accounts, etc.
