Here’s Why Insurance Companies Want Your Aadhaar Data
Even as the Supreme Court is yet to clarify the actual validity of Aadhaar card for various public and private sector organizations that are offering services to the people, there are many companies including the top insurers that actually want to access the Aadhaar data of their customers. These insurance companies claim that Aadhaar access will simplify the KYC process.

For instance, they will be able to access all the required documents of the policy-holders within hours through the UIDAI database. The same process currently takes a few days due to its manual nature. The insurers will also be able to update the KYC details of their customers on the go. However, this raises the question whether the companies will be able to access other personal details of their customers as well as including their income tax details, banking details, etc. which is a big concern for many.
