Home ministry will allow digital kiosks in rural areas

The Ministry of Electronics and IT has asked the Home Ministry to allow kiosk function in rural areas during the nationwide lockdown.

There are around 3, 70,000 kiosk functions that can provide essentials services to the citizens in rural areas.

Union minister for electronics and IT, Ravi Shankar Prasad, told ET, “As of now, 50,000 kiosk functions are working due to the restrictions in some areas and we are working on it”.
