Huge space for FDI in insurance sector

FDI in Insurance sector wants government to increase the limit from 49% to 74%. There is an opportunity for FDI in both life and non-life sectors.

Finance ministry and IRDAI had talks with companies.

As of March, last year, life insurance sector has seen an aggregate FDI of 35.49%. There is a space for investments in insurance sector for the companies like Bajaj Allianz life, HDFC life and ICICI prudential.

The utilisation percentage of the FDI in insurance sector is worse and it has gone down in past few years.
