Images of New 50 Rs. Note Circulating on Social Media: Are they Real?

The images of new pale-blue colored notes of Rs. 50 denomination have gone viral on the social media recently. However, the question is- how real are they?
The Reserve Bank of India announced recently that it is going to introduce Rs. 50 currency notes in new series. However, the old currency notes will continue to be legal tender. As the central bank confirmed that the new notes will be fluorescent blue in color with a motif of Chariot and Hampi, it’s possible that the social media images are real. However, nothing can be said for sure until the new notes are officially issued.
