India: 57th Most Innovative Nation in World

India is ranked 57th in the 11th Global Innovation Index which holds a huge significance for the policymakers across the globe. In 2015, it stood at the 81st position and made its way to the 60th position by 2017, thus showing impressive progress in the past few years alone.
The report which ranked 126 economies on the basis of 80 factors placed Switzerland on the number one spot, it’s first since 2011. India’s rival China has also made progress as it secured the 17th spot from 2017’s 22nd spot.
