India launches COVID-19 app for Jio Phones

Indian technology ministry is launching COVID-19 tracing apps for the 5 million Jio phones, to fight the coronavirus battle. The mobile devices sold by the Reliance industries are affordable for all.

The company is set to roll out the coronavirus tracing app in the Jio phones, as it looks to increase the reach of the system. India imposed complete lockdown in late March to fight the outbreak of coronavirus.

The launch of the Aarogya Setu app last month, an app that helps users to know whether they came into contact with people who are COVID-19 positive. The app is available on Android and iOS platforms and has been downloaded by 100 million Indians.
