India Post Payments Bank partners with HDFC

India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) and HDFC Limited on October 26 announced a partnership to offer home loans to almost 4.7 crore clients of IPPB.

India post will leverage its nation-wide organization of 650 branches and more than 1,36,000 banking access points to make available HDFC home loan products to clients across India, the organization said in a public statement.

The organization means to take HDFC home loan products to clients, particularly those in unbanked and underserved areas with large numbers of them having little or no access to finance, to fulfil their dream about owning a home, the IPPB release said.

IPPB will offer lodging credits through almost 1,90,000 banking service providers postmen and Gramin Dak Sevaks, the organization said.

According to the agreement, credit, technical and legal appraisals, processing and disbursements for all home loans will be dealt with by HDFC Ltd while IPPB will be responsible for sourcing of loans, the organization said.
