November 06, 2017
The services under the India Posts Payments Bank(IPPB) might be available all across India by April next year, Communications Minister Manoj Sinha said. He said that the payments bank will have its branches in 650 districts by April, thus making it the largest payments banking network in India.
Currently, there are only two branches of IPPB- one in Ranchi, and one in Raipur. However, many more of these will be opened soon that will be connected to the rural post offices.
In total, there are about 1.55 lakh post offices in India.
