India slipped 10 places in Global Competitiveness Index

Last year India was situated at 58th place of Global Competitiveness Index and this year it has slipped down 10 places to 68th place.

Though India has slipped down to 68th rank to not so great number, the WEF (World Economic Forum) said that India’s rank is high in terms of macroeconomic stability and market size but added that the banking system has been affected by a high delinquency rate.

The reason WEF said that India ranked so low out of 114 countries was because of weak technology adoption; poor health conditions and low life expectancy.

Singapore replaced the United States as the most competitive economy.
