Investible launches $100M AUD fund
Investible, the Sydney-based early-stage venture firm known for investments in Canva and other top Australian start-ups, announced today it is raising a $100 million AUD (about $72.3 million USD) Climate Tech Fund. This is whenever Investible first has launched a sector-focused fund. Its first two funds, including a $50 million AUD one closed recently, were both sectors agnostic.
Last month, Investible likewise said it will launch Greenhouse, a growth and innovation hub for environment tech start-ups, in organization with the City of Sydney. When it opens one year from now, Greenhouse will unite start-ups, researchers, academics, and corporations, including climate tech organizations outside of Investible’s portfolio.
“It’s tied in with assisting them with going from start-up to scale, and so some of that will be extra examination to work on their technology or engaging corporates to understand what precisely they are searching for and furthermore finding their next clients,” said Tom Kline, one of the tops of the Climate Tech Fund.
The fund will invest in seed rounds, however hold half of its capital for follow-on funding. It will principally back Australian organizations, yet additionally plans to devote up to 30% of the fund to international organizations.
