IT Department to Monitor Social Media for Tracing Black Money from Next Month

Starting next month, the Income Tax department of India will start amassing virtual information for identifying the black money hoarders.
The project, aptly titled “Project Insight” is expected to begin next month under which big data analytics will be used to match the information obtained from the social media platforms with the income and spending information provided by the taxpayers.
The government has already made it mandatory for the individuals to link their Aadhaar cards with their PANs and Bank accounts to ensure a high level of transparency and ease the black money crackdown.
