IT Department to Scrutinize Profiles of Taxpayers Under Project Insight Starting April 1

As soon as the next financial year i.e. FY20 begins, the Income Tax (IT) department will start keeping a close eye on the taxpayers via their transactions, social media activities, etc. under Project Insight.
The project which is also an online portal will be equipped with a slew of functions that will give the IT department a bird’s eye view of the taxpayers including both old and new ones. Sources said that it will use machine learning for managing and processing the information in an effective manner.
