IT Dept. Extends Date for Filing Statement of Financial Transaction

The Income Tax department has extended the date for filing SFT report by financial institutions, banks, and mutual funds from May 31 to June 30. The decision was taken on the account of Central Board of Direct Taxes receiving reports of “teething and data compilation” problems.
The official statement from the financial ministry says that it has extended the due date of submitting Statement of Financial Transaction regarding financial transactions for the year 2016-17 in view of the representations of the problems and the related inconveniences.
