Jan Dhan Brought Significant Improvement in Financial Inclusion: CRISIL

As per a recent report by CRISIL, Narendra Modi government’s Jan Dhan initiative has given a big push to financial inclusion in India by promoting growth in credit accounts as well as deposits.
CRISIL, which is one of the biggest credit rating agencies in India, said that “garnering over 30 crore deposit accounts” the Jan Dhan Yojana, which was launched in 2014, has made “astounding progress”.
The report also said that the in 2016 India’s score on financial inclusion increased to 58 out of 100 from the earlier 50.1 that was recorded in 2013.
