KJ Alphones Said Digital India Could lead to 30% GDP Growth

The Minister of State for Electronics and IT, KJ Alphones said that the Digital India Programme has the capacity to push the country’s GDP by as much as 20% to 30% by the year 2025.
Alphones said that a large number of major projects under the programme have been shifted from the planning stage to their execution, and the progress made in these is already showing an impact on the businesses and citizens alike.
Alphones, who was speaking at an event organized by Assocham, said that four million users are using DigiLocker, a cloud storage service provided by the government. He added that more than one million people are using MyGov app, a platform for the people to connect to the government.
