Laid-Off IT Employees Approach Labour Court

Employees of big corporations such as Vodafone, Wipro, and Tech Mahindra that were laid off recently on the grounds of below-par performance and economic slowdown as claimed by the companies, have joined hands under the Pune unit of Forum for Information Technology Employees (FITE) and taken up the case with the Labour Court.
As many as 12 complaints were recently filed with the Labour Commissioner Office in Pune against the layoffs. However, finding them genuine and reasonable the office will now forward the case to the labor court.
According to FITE, more than 100 similar complaints have been raised with labor commissioner office all across the country covering cities like Noida, Bengaluru, Chennai, etc.
