McDonald’s Makes a 300 bn USD Deal, its Biggest in Two Decades

World’s top fast-food company McDonald’s recently acquired machine learning startup Dynamic Yield for 300 million USD which makes it the biggest tech-related deal in the past 20 years. Sources said that the company wants to use the technology to intelligently update its electronic menu boards- more coffee offers on cold days, soft drinks and vanilla ice cream cone on hot days, etc.
McDonald’s is one of the largest fast food chains across the globe that serves around 68 million customers every day. Its net income in 2018 was a whopping 6 billion USD which is why a 300 million USD deal barely hurts its cash flow.
