Merger Talks Help Bharat Finance, IndusInd Bank’s Stocks Rise by 5.5%

As Bharat Finance and IndusInd Bank entered into an exclusive agreement to evaluate the banking merger, their shares jumped by 5.5% on Monday. While the former’s stock rose by 5.56% and hit a record high of Rs. 1,790, that of the latter jumped by 3.35% and reached a value of Rs. 967.

According to the analysts at Edelweiss Broking Limited, for an IndusInd bank, the merger could potentially boost its earnings. Moreover, Return on Assets could go beyond the 2% mark and prove to be extremely beneficial as it will have access to Bharat Financial Inclusion’s retail loan book.
