Narendra Modi to Strike Off Additional 1.2 Lakh Companies in the Fight Against Black Money

The Centre has announced that it will strike-off the names of 1.2 lakh more companies from the official ledgers in its continued efforts against the black money. Earlier in November, the government had announced the striking off of 2.24 lakh suspected shell companies.

The government had made curbing of black money a high priority after the note-ban as Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the Income Tax Department, Enforcement and other concerns authorities to check black money by initiating a large-scale crackdown on the shell companies and suspicious high-value transactions.
