New CEA Likely to be Appointed in 1-2 Months
The government is looking to appoint the new Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) within the next 1-2 months once the search committee appointed by the Finance Ministry provides a list of recommended candidates, sources said.

At the end of June, the government invited applications for the post of CEA on deputation basis. The Finance Ministry appointed a search committee under former RBI governor Bimal Jalan after former CEA Arvind Subramanian stepped down from the office.
