New R&D Center in Works in Israel as Flipkart Seeks Increased Tech Presence

India’s top ecommerce company Flipkart is working on setting up an R&D center and a management team based in Israel to tighten its grasp on data protection, cybersecurity, and cloud computing, and also to evaluate new investment opportunities. A source said that the company wants to actively work on security technology, computer vision, and artificial intelligence.
Not just Flipkart, but it’s parent company Walmart is also seeking new investment opportunities in Israel. In regard to the same, company CEO Dong McMillion visited the country with a few executives recently to meet with the heads of local startups, sources said.
