NITI Aayog VC Raises Concerns Over Under-employment, Unsatisfactory Jobs

Rajiv Kumar, who is the NITI Aayog Vice Chairman said that India is facing a huge problem of under-employment and unsatisfactory jobs.
Pointing to the wide gap that has developed between the high aspirations of the youth and the reality, Kumar said that there is a “challenge to create a balance in this”.
He said that the youth is not satisfied with the jobs they have, and so perhaps the problem is not unemployment but rather “under-employment” or unsatisfactory employment. To that end, he said, the government is now focusing on skill training that will allow the youngsters to provide satisfactory employment to the trained people.
