No more trees to be cut in Aarey till next hearing on Oct 21: Supreme Court

The prayers have been finally heard!

Today the Supreme Court ordered today to Maharashtra Government not to cut any more trees till the next hearing which will happen on October 21st.

Just recently thousands of trees had been cut even with the protests on the rise and activists were arrested for the same issue.

The Supreme Court also took notice of this situation and told the police to release the protestors and activists held in the jail.

In the last recent months, people from Mumbai came together to protest against the felling of trees of Aarey forest which the high court failed to recognize as a forest. Though it was an extension of Sanjay Gandhi National Park it plays a huge part in the metropolis area.
