Only 25% Females in Indian Workforce: McKinsey

According to a recent report by consultancy group McKinsey & Company, only 25% of India’s workers are females. It said that by increasing this percentage by mere 10%, the country’s GDP can be increased by $770 billion in 7 years.

McKinsey said that inequality at work and in society are some of the main factors behind the gender gap in India. Some major areas where this gap is predominant include legal protection, political voice, etc.

The report also said that violence against women in India is 6 times higher than the top scores across the globe.
