Over 5,000 Risky Exporters Identified Who Raised False GST Refund Claims

The government has identified around 5,106 “risky exporters” who raised forged invoices to claim GST refunds. Sources said that these bogus claims of Integrated GST or IGST could set the exchequer back by as much as ₹1,000 crores or even more.

Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) assured that genuine exporters who have applied for GST refunds will get the same in a timely manner under an automated system.
