Paytm Sold Rs. 120 Crores Gold in Six Months

Payments bank and mobile wallet company Paytm said it sold gold worth Rs. 120 crores within six months of starting the sale on its platform. It also said that the number of buyers crossed one million mark on “Dhanteras”.

Paytm, which observed a 12% growth in sales on Dhanteras, said that more than 60% of the PayTm Gold buyers were from the smaller cities in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. Plus, more than 70% of these were millennials, thus suggesting that gold is becoming a popular choice for long-term savings for the youngsters.
