As People Wait for Rs. 200 Notes, Fake Ones Emerge in Jammu

The new currency notes of Rs. 200 denomination, which were introduced by the Reserve Bank of India in August are hard to come by even after such a long time. However, counterfeit versions of the same are already surfacing in Jammu.

According to a recent report, Jammu police seized fake currency notes worth Rs. 6.36 lakh from a local man who was reportedly printing them at a rented place in Sidhra.

As per the report, of the total seized notes 19 were of Rs. 50 denomination, 1150 of Rs. 500 denomination, and 270 of Rs. 200 denomination.
