PM Narendra Modi Asks Financial Ministry to Activate 7 cr Jan Dhan Accounts

To make sure that no one is deprived of government benefits, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the finance ministry to activate about 7 crore Jan Dhan accounts that are currently dormant.
The majority of inactive Jan Dhan accounts entered the dormant status because of the absence of financial transactions. A large number of these accounts are also zero balance accounts.
Jan Dhan accounts were created to push the government’s goal of weaning the people from using cash and adopting a digital economy instead.
