Property Tax Slashed by 70% in UP, Small Stores to Benefit

Small grocery and general stores in Uttar Pradesh have now something to rejoice. The state government has reduced property tax on small commercial establishments by 70%. This will give a shot in the arms of the store owners across the state that have been reeling under massive pressure from online stores and E-commerce giants like Flipkart and Amazon.
At present, property tax on commercial buildings is up to 5 times that on residential buildings. However, the new move has slashed it to 1.5 times only.
