Proposals for Setting up e-Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Invited by Govt

To build the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in big and smart cities, the government is seeking proposals from entities across the country. A notification regarding the same has been issued by the Ministry of Heavy Industries and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
The Heavy Industries Ministry said that through the Expression of Interest (EOI), the government looks to deploy around 1,000 EV charging stations in the initial phase. Connecting the same with grid-connected solar power plants is also being considered, it added.
