Pune Metro to Receive €245 mln From French Development Bank

French Development Bank AFD announced that it will provide a capital of €245 million to the Pune Metro project that’s under Maha Metro. An AFD team under the regional director Nicholas Fornage has already visited the sites where the work has started.

It’s worth noting that earlier too AFD had provided the Nagpur Metro Rail project a capital of Rs. 1,000 crore which also comes under the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MAHA-Metro).

The Pune Metro project that requires a total funding of Rs. 11,420 crore has been backed by both the central and state governments. However, a part of the funding is to be raised from foreign investors.
