Railways Revenue Collection Through Digital Payments Grows 12%

This Tuesday, the Indian Railways reported a 12% increase in the cashless revenue collection through e-tickets. This was recorded during the period 2016-17 ending August this year.

A senior official from the railway ministry said that the high jump in the digital payments collection in the industry has to do with the various steps taken by the railways. He said that the digital payments revenue from the reserved segment (e-ticket) has jumped from 62.55% in 2015-16 and 64.76% in 2016-17 to around 76% until August 28, 2017.
