RBI Approves Setting Up of Kerala Bank, Says Pinarayi Vijayan
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the central bank RBI has in principle given the state government permission to set up Kerala Bank. It will be created by merging the state co-operative banks with the district co-operative banks. 

Vijayan said that he welcomes the RBI’s decision and looks to finish the merger by the end of the current financial year. State Minister for Co-operation, Tourism and Devaswoms, Kadakampally Surendran also took to Twitter to express his pleasure and tweeted “Safe and reliable banking for everyone. That’s our motto…Our Kerala Bank gets the green signal”.
