RBI Governor Urjit Patel Calls FM Arun Jaitley Before Policy Review

As the monetary policy review is scheduled for the first week in August, Reserve Bank Governor called Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today to reportedly discuss various economics issues. Patel also met with Subhash Chandra Garg, the new Economic Affairs Secretary.
It’s worth noting that RBI governor usually meets the Union finance minister before every monetary policy review.
The 6-member monetary policy committee under the chairmanship of Urjit Patel is scheduled for a meeting on August 1-2. It would provide the third bi-monthly policy statement for the current financial year.
