RBI May Release New List of 50 Mega Stressed Accounts

After issuing the details of 41 top loan defaulters so far, the central bank RBI is now planning to create and issue a fresh list of about 50 loan defaulters that are either already under stress or close to be put under the category of NPAs.

The creation of a new list was brought up during the recent discussions on the Rs. 2.1 lakh crores recapitalization of the banking sector.

The new list will contain those accounts that have been put under the SMA-2 category which is used in relation to a 60-day to 90-day delay in repayment, a bank executive said.
