RBI to Buy 50 Machines to Check Counterfeit Notes

The Reserve Bank of India is planning to buy 50 currency verification machines that will be installed at its regional offices to sort, count and verify the authenticity of various currency notes of different denominations including the banned notes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 denomination.
The central bank has issued a global tender for the machines which will be installed at its 18 offices all over the country. The Request for Proposal(RPF) says that the machine should be computerized and must be capable of counting, sorting, processing and authenticating the Indian banknotes.
