RBI to Slash Repo Rate by 25 Bps

As inflation is expected to reach a new normal of 4%, the Reserve Bank is likely to cut the repo rate by 25 basis points, an HSBC report says.

The report said that inflation in India has reduced greatly, and although it won’t stay that way for long the rebound is also unlikely to be too sharp.  As the central bank is scheduled for a meeting on August 2, it’s expected it will consider cutting the Repo Rate by 25 bps to maintain a neutral stance.
