Reliance Jio in talks with OEM to launch IoT services in the country

Reliance Jio is in talk with OEM to launch IoT services in the country. Jio’s Pan India IoT network based on narrowband IoT technology is already working. It was launched in collaboration with South Korean smartphones giant Samsung.

The telco said that it had developed a comprehensive IoT solution with device, diagnostics, connectivity & support.

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries said, “We are aiming to connect at least a billion IoT devices to its platform, unlocking ₹20,000 crore in annual revenue opportunity per year for the organization.

Jio has already conducted pilots with different electricity discoms. Company is integrating its IoT solution with OEMs and has tied up systems integrators for the rollout. it is also looking to use smart city space with its smart lighting solutions.

Ayush Sharma Senior VP of engineering & technology said, “Jio is looking at these technologies to enable world’s largest programmable network with alternate technologies available”.
