SBI Appoints Rajnish Kumar as the New Chairman

This Wednesday, India’s largest lender State Bank of India appointed Rajnish Kumar as the new chairman for a term of three years. He will be replacing the current chairman, i.e. Arundhati Bhattacharya whose term is ending this week.

According to the sources, Rajnish Kumar was contesting for the position of chairmanship with another managing director P K Gupta. The interviews for the position were conducted in June by former CAG Vinod Rai for which four candidates appeared.

SBI’s current chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya took the position in 2013, which also made her the first female chairperson in the bank’s history.
