SBI Joins Hands with Nabard and NGOs

In a bid to raise its stake with the farmers across the country, public sector State Bank of India (SBI) has partnered with National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (Nabard).

Under the agreement, loans will be provided to groups of farms who will share a joint liability towards repayment.

Nabard’s chief GM of micro credit innovation department GR Chintala said that observing the success of private banks in lending through joint liability groups (JLGs), rural banks and public sector banks should also capitalize in the same domain.
