SBI Releases Chatbot For Customers’ Assistance

India’s largest lender State Bank of India has launched a chatbot on its website to assist its customers regarding the banking products’ queries.

The chatbot, named SBI Intelligent Assistant (SIA), is programmed to answer customer queries regarding personal loans, car loans, home loans, etc.

Mrutyunjay Mahapatra, chief information officer and deputy managing director at SBI, said that the decision to incorporate a chatbot was taken because it was felt that website navigation was difficult for the customers.
A chatbot is a software program designed to respond to questions through text or audio.
