Six Domestic, Four Foreign Banks to Set Offices in GIFT City

A senior official has revealed that six Indian banks and four foreign banks are planning to open their offices in GIFT (Gujarat International Finance Tec) City.
As of today, there are 11 national lenders that have their businesses in GIFT including ICICI Bank, SBI Bank, HDFC Bank, etc. In addition to that, there are around 6-7 major insurance players in the city which have written $20 billion worth of insurance policies so far, GIFT city MD and group CEO, Ajay Pandey, said.
