Social media alliance to fight against fake news

Social media giants come together to fight against the fake news on their platforms in India.
According to the documents reviewed by ET, Information Trust Alliance (ITA) is formed to investigate the content shared on the social media platforms. Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and social media firms have partnered.
Bhanupreet Saini, Associate VP of IAMAI said, “Alliance will help to restrict the fake news on the social media platforms and the main focus of the alliance is to create awareness among the content creators”.
