IT Spending in Indian Banking to Top $9 bn

IT spending in the Indian banking and securities sectors will cross 9 billion American dollars this year at a growth rate of 11.7%, Gartner Principal Research said. Investment boost in the digital payments infrastructure is cited as the reason behind the same.

Moutusi Sau, Gartner Principal Research Analyst said that the IT spending by the Indian banks slowed down during demonetization, but now it’s coming back on track. She added that a big portion of these investments will now also go to blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI).
