Startups Raised $62 Million Capital in 2017: Tracxn

As per the data with the industry tracker Tracxn, startups in India raised nearly 62.7 million US dollars worth of capital in 2017 compared to 58 million USD in 2016. In addition to that, 2017 also saw top players such as Swiggy, BigBasket, Shopclues, etc. opting for venture debt as they raised USD 5 million, USD 6.93 million, and USD 7.73 million, respectively.
The big picture shows that venture debt funds are becoming popular now, also a top venture debt firm, InnoVen Capital, reported a 25% year over year growth in 2017 as it disbursed USD 75 million to a number of startups in the country.
