Subhash Chandra Garg Named Finance Secretary

This Friday, Economic Affairs Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg was named as the Finance Secretary. A Personnel Ministry order said that the approval was given by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Garg is an IAS officer of Rajasthan Cadre and was appointed as the Secretary in Department of Economic Affairs in June 2017.
Former finance secretary Ajay Narayan Jha stepped down from office on February 28 and is presently a member of the 15th Finance Commission.
