TDS, TCS Provisions to be Implemented Under GST Law from today

The Centre has asked for the provisions of Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) and Tax Collected at Source (TCS) to be implemented under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) law as per the Central GST Act. The date for the same has been notified as October 1 after which the intimated entities, as well as the state governments, will be required to collect 1% TDS on payments to goods or services that exceed ₹2.5 lakh in value.
