Top Lenders State Conditions as Government Works on Banking Consolidation

Major state-run banks such as Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, and Canara Bank, which are being considered to acquire smaller banks under the merger process have stated certain conditions for the government to agree with their plans.

Some of the key demands of the top banks are that the target bank should be one that’s making profits and the bank’s management should be given a minimum of three years post the merger to ensure a smooth transition.
