Tumblr to be Sold to WordPress Owner by Verizon

According to a media report, Verizon Communications Inc which owns blogging website Tumblr will sell the platform to Automattic Inc. which owns top Content Management System WordPress for an undisclosed amount.
Verizon Media Group is a digital media giant that owns more than 50 online brands including TechCrunch, HuffPost, and Tumblr.
In 2013, Yahoo acquired Tumblr for more than 1 billion USD. However, in 2015, Verizon acquired the platform as part of its acquisition deal for Yahoo in 2015.
